Brewing up for SP Cup final

The SP Brewery Ltd, the major sponsor of the 2007 SP Cup rugby league competition, yesterday announced its programmes leading to the grand final weekend events in Port Moresby.
SP Brewery general manager Stan Joyce said they and the PNG National Rugby League as the overseer of the semi-professional competition have lined up some exciting activities as well as having Brisbane Broncos coach Darren Lockyer here as a guest.
The 2007 SP Cup grand final will see reigning premiers Mabey & Johnson Muruks taking on minor premiers Agmark Gurias on Sunday at Lloyd Robson Oval.
Lockyer will be in Port Moresby accompanied by another player Peter Ryan tomorrow, not yesterday as reported.
“Lockyer will be the guest speaker at the SP Cup grand final reception on September 7 at the Crown Plaza where SP Cup franchise teams and sponsors will be attending.
“We are also pleased to announce that Bill Harrigan has once again agreed to be the referee of the grand final match,” said Joyce.
