Westpac unveils fast fund transfer service

WESTPAC Bank recently announced that its MoneyGram international money transfer service will roll out to its 15 branches outside of Port Moresby.
In a statement, Westpac said services were initially set up in branches in downtown Port Moresby, Boroko and Waigani.
The MoneyGram service enables individuals to send and receive money internationally without the need of a bank account, with transaction accessible from over 125,000 locations across 170 countries and territories through this service.
Chris Dawson, Westpac’s head of sales and services, said funds could be received within 10 minutes after the fund was sent.
“With the continuous improvement of the economy in Papua New Guinea, the country is attracting more visitors. “Visitors to PNG and Papua New Guineans going offshore both need access to a convenient money transfer system and we are happy to announce this partnership with MoneyGram.”
