Credit Corp goes to Vanuatu in Oct
CREDIT Corporation (PNG) Ltd
yesterday announced the company’s third offshore business in
Vanuatu after successful operations in Fiji and Solomon Islands.
Group general manager Robert Allport informed the Port Moresby
Stock Exchange the company was in the process of setting up an
operation in Port Vila, Vanuatu.
In a statement, the company noted that it had been issued with a
licence and approvals by the Reserve Bank of Vanuatu and the
Bank of Papua New Guinea and was expected to begin operations on
Oct 8 from its premises in Anchor House, Rue Lini Highway, Port
Vila, Vanuatu.
The company recently released its half year results posting a
641% increase in its half year profit to K53.33 million against
the same period last year of only K8.3 million.
Acting chairman Barry Hanson anticipated another strong result
for this year with a healthy increase in profit and dividend
growth.

ORGANISERS of the
Pacific tuna forum scheduled on Sept 12-13 are on target with
their funding requirements, thanks to help from sponsors whose
financial support continued to flow in.
Two more bronze sponsors – Elemi Lawyers and Coco Enterprise Ltd
– presented cheques for K5,000 each to the National Fisheries
Authority managing director Sylvester Pokajam yesterday.
The latest contributions brought the total forum funding to
K225,000.
Maru Marine Resources Ltd also contributed in kind (seafood
products) and cash of K2,000 for a total of K10,000, making it a
silver tuna sponsor.
Mr Pokajam acknowledged Elemi Lawyers and Coco Enterprise for
their donations of K5,000 each.
The forum is a regional tuna industry and trade conference that
will be attended by local and overseas participants.
