Meanwhile, the SP Games silver medal Tamioks are currently in training in Brisbane’s Sunshine Coast to participate in the Oceania Cup on Sept 10-17.
‘The Tamioks will give it their best in their next international encounter next week,’ said Vagi Boga, the in-country trainer and SPG captain while transiting through Jackson’s Airport from Apia to Brisbane early this week.
Boga said this was the first time PNG Hockey was entering this new level of tournament to place us on another international ranking, the pre-Olympic qualifiers.
She said how they perform next week would enable PNG Hockey and the ‘Tamioks’ to qualify for Olympic duties, possibly in the Beijing Olympic Games in China next year.
