Provincial govt praised for subsidies

NINE Engan Telikom Training College (TTC) students in Lae, Morobe province, have commended Enga Governor Peter Ipatas and the provincial government for subsidising their fees this year.
Spokesman Jonathan Saka said last Thursday that he was delighted Mr Ipatas had recognised the students who were currently studying certificate and diploma courses on City and Guilds programmes at the college.
Mr Saka said they had received a cheque of about K4,800, which was paid directly into the college account.
“This was the first time the government recognised us when the subsidy team came to the University of Technology to pay school fees for the institutions in Lae city,” he said.
“We submitted our names to the provincial subsidy coordinator but the list had gone missing but after we sent another, our cries were heard by the action governor.”
