PEA welcomes Kumbakor bid for housing condition

THE national president of the Public Employees Association Michael Malabag has thrown his support behind Housing Minister Andrew Kumbakor’s plans to make housing an employment condition for all workers.
Mr Malabag said the Government must take the lead to address the workers’ problems like housing.
“All we need is a K10-K15, 000 house with two or three bedrooms. When a public servant has his family in a reasonable house, they will produce two or three times more in productivity.”
Mr Malabag was at NHC headquarters last Friday when Housing Minister Andrew Kumbakor announced his plans on housing.
Mr Malabag said he had been struggling at PEA to improve conditions of employment in the public service, and Mr Kumbakor’s announcement was welcome news.
