Coronation to open K1.5mil facilities

By FRANK RAI
THE Coronation College in Lae will open its new K1.5 million students’ dormitory and mess during its annual school cultural day celebration tomorrow.
The celebration will also commemorate Papua New Guinea’s Independence Day celebrations.
Students from Grades 7 to 10 will be dressed in traditional attire representing the four different regions.
Deputy principal (secondary school) Vincent Mbuge said yesterday that students were gearing up for the celebration, which would see the opening of the facilities and unveiling of the school’s new logo.
Mr Mbuge said the dormitories and the mess facilities were constructed with funding sourced from its agency, International Education Agency (IEA).
“I encourage the public to be involved in the celebrations because they may have a different idea of the school and we want them to see for themselves and observe what we offer,” Mr Mbuge said, adding that the gates will be open for free starting from 8am.
He also said culture was something that should be performed with pride, where people should not pay to see the culture and pride of PNG.
