PUBLIC awareness on life threatening diseases is vital and the media is the only channel to provide this vital information.
Bird flu is one issue that the media had been ‘slightly’ misreporting and NAQIA authorities call for the media’s involvement in future meetings.

Tests were conducted using the rapid test kit and only one turned out to be positive but it was not confirmed as the bird flu virus until further tests.
