The stage is set for Port Moresby
soccer grand final

PORT MORESBY Soccer
Association will stage the grand final for its lower divisions
at Bisini Soccer ground this weekend.
The opening grand final would be between Mungkas and Markham
Yarangs in Youth 2 Division which is expected to go down to the
wire.
Mungkas who have been playing well under former youth coach
Channel Kakahe and Russel Tsuga is looking forward for a game
against the boys from Markham valley, the Yarangs.
Tsuga said he would be support Kakahe to look after boys for
this weekendís grand final but his girls are ready for next
weekís countdown against Souths.
He said he would be relying on Clare Tsuga, Esther Kenetsi,
Annette Aisa and Edgar Maia to win the game for the
Bougainvilleans.

Tsuga and Aisa will control the midfield to ensure striker Maia
gets enough ball to score against Souths.
Interestingly, both Mungkas and Souths clubs were sponsored by
Petroleum Resources Kutubu (PRK)
The other finals on Saturday would be between Maclearance and
Markham Yarangs who should give spectators something to watch on
the weekend. Maclearance a new team from Central province is
sending shockwaves through Bisini Park every weekend with its
top class performance.
Under the watchful eyes of Lua Vagi has been playing some good
football. Lua will be relying on his striker Taumata Golo who
scored the hattricks of goals against Markham Yarangs in the
semi finals two weeks ago.
He will also call on the services of stopper Tau Nius, Laeban
Titus and Jawure Peter to give a helping hand when the going
gets tough.
On Sunday, Musa Football Club will see their two teams in the
finals against Iarowari High School (youth 3 division) and Muiah
Brothers in the Division Four clash.
MFC president Jim Abani said he could not believe that they have
two teams in the final showdown.
The club was under the guidance of former international and
Guria backline pillar Charles Api who moulded the unknowns from
Tufi in the Oro province to become a team to reckon with in
soccer competition.
He said his boys are not underestimating any opposition but will
give their best shot on Sunday.
In the preliminary finals on the same day, the spectators will
see the clash of womenís premier when minor premier Telikom take
on Rapatona and University play Guria in a sudden-death
play-off.
While in the menís premier, Verave will play Rapatona on Sunday
and on Monday during the public holiday, the winner of Verave
and Rapatona will meet University to see who will play Souths on
Sept 22.
Secretary of Port Moresby Soccer Association Frank Kauri said
everything are in place for the big day throughout the long
Independence weekend.
