Yarang receive timely boost

By HENRY MORABANG
THE Indonesia Ambassador Bom Soerjanto presented 200 T-shirt to Markham Yarang Football club of Port Moresby yesterday as a morale booster as they prepare for the grand final this weekend.
Ambassador Soerjanto found time from his busy schedule to attend the brief presentation at Sir John Guise Stadium yesterday and presented the club with the T-shirt.
He said he was pleased to assist the club which he understands was made up of players from a soccer-playing province.
The ambassador said he hoped that this support would help them win the grand final against Maclerance tomorrow.
Papindo representative Agus Rusmano witnessed the presentation stating that his company is willing to support Markham Yarang as his company started off in Lae.
President of Markham Yarang Football Club Nazilla Yalambing thanked the Indonesia Embassy and Papindo Group of Companies for their timely assistance as they prepare for the finals tomorrow.
“We really appreciated their support and kind donation of T-shirts which is a moral booster for the team,” he said.
Markham coach John Watson said the sponsorship was timely as they prepare for the major showdown tomorrolw.
He said he would be relying on the full cooperation from the team to win the final. He cited Kelly Zambu in the backline, Yawising Giasa and Jackie Amon in the midfield plus two strikers Noah Godfrey and Gaindi Fariang to lead the onslaught against Maclerance tomorrow.
Watson said the club had came a long way thus far and they would not let this chance slip by. The club started in 2005 and played in all the grand final to make it to Division One and will be promoted next year to premier division.
“I am very confident that we are going to win the game this weekend,” he said.
