Safety tools exhibit

By JASON SOM KAUT
GAS and safety company BOC PNG held its second annual exposition to raise awareness on occupational health and safety (OHS) issues in the workforce last week.
The two-day expo was held on Wednesday and Thursday at the Lae International Hotel poolside.
Country manager for PNG and Solomon Islands Robert Parrish said: “We want to make companies more aware and conscious of OHS issues in the workforce and we want the exhibit as an appropriate vehicle to address this.”
Themed “BOC – your partner in workplace safety and welding”, the event featured booths and demonstrations of new safety and welding products from Australian suppliers and BOC Australia.
“We want to make local companies more aware and to take these lessons back to their workplace and in the process form partnerships with supplier-companies for safe products and safety advice,” Mr Parrish said.
BOC PNG planned to introduce two new products to the market within the next six months, he said.
