MPs urged to work together with ABG

THE four Bougainville Members of the National Parliament have been challenged to work together with the Autonomous Bougainville Government (ABG) for the benefit of the people.
The challenge was issued by the executive member of the interim Panguna Landowner’s Association Wendelinus Bitanama in Buka last week.
Mr Bitanama said the good work of peace initiatives had already been established by the ABG and the people of Panguna through the signing of the Panguna communique and therefore, cooperation and support from the National MPs and the ABG was needed.
“All leaders of the National Parliament, the ABG and the traditional governments must put aside their political differences and work towards achieving lasting peace on Bougainville,” he said.
Mr Bitanama said people should stop talking politics and start implementing decisions contained in the Bougainville Peace Agreement.
He hailed the recent signing of the memorandum of understanding between ABG and the Me’ekamui Unity Government as a sign of positive road map for Bougainville.
