Digicel hits N Ireland
DIGICEL continues to expand fast in
the Pacific with the launching of its mobile services in New
Ireland province yesterday.
Mobile coverage will reach from Namatanai, along the Buluminski
highway, through to Kavieng.
For the first time ever, the people of New Ireland will have
access to Digicel’s mobile services in villages such as Karu,
Kawambu, Konos, Lambuso, Kama, Loguk and Povalval.
Digicel engineers worked over the last couple of weeks
installing the microwave link on Duke of York Island, making the
step across from East New Britain to New Ireland a reality.
Digicel will have special launch promotions on offer from
Namatanai along the Buluminski Highway through to Kavieng
starting today.
Every New Irelander will at last be able to own a mobile phone
connecting them to the rest of PNG so that they too can benefit
from Digicel’s state-of-the-art network, superior customer care
and wide range of affordable handsets.
Digicel’s rapid roll out of a state-of-the-art network now
covers provinces including Central, Morobe, Madang, Simbu,
Eastern Highlands, Western Highlands, East New Britain and as of
yesterday, New Ireland, showing Digicel’s commitment “to offer
all Papua New Guineans high-quality mobile telecommunication
services throughout the country at an affordable price”.
