A big dump

WE are aware that PNG is the largest country in the South Pacific. And because of its size, PNG is also the largest dumping ground in the region.
Rubbish is thrown all over the place. Betelnut and betelnut stains are another ugly sight. Mountains of garbage piling up near all government offices, stores, banks, police stations, etc, are another cause of sore eye.
What you see here in Port Moresby is repeated all over the country.
All these showed our leaders and law enforcing agencies cannot even enforce a simple anti-littering law.
Can the NCDC wake up and revert to the old system where City Council members are placed in every corner of the street to monitor littering and act in those who litter in Port Moresby?
Squatter settlements are expanding throughout PNG. Landowners cannot do anything or say anything because of the fear of being killed or harassed by tribal or gang members.
To resolve these problems, the Government must engage the PNGDF to handle the eviction exercise on all squatter settlements.
You will also notice many fake Asian goods entering PNG, like foodstuff, vehicle parts, and other accessories, etc.
You also see Asians operating stores and small kai bars. The food they serve are sometimes not fit for people. Sometimes, the people have no choice but to buy.
I appeal to the Government and health inspectors to conduct daily morning inspections on all these kai bars to ensure that the food served are fit for human consumption.
