Mald concerned over school closure

The National Capital District Commission (NCDC) must bail out school’s health problems, Moresby North-east MP Andrew Mald has said.
Mr Mald urged NCDC to refrain from taking drastic actions which included the closure of the Wild Life Community school at Erima.
He said NCDC and its health inspectors should have seriously considered the effects of the school closure on the education of hundreds of children attending that school.
Mr Mald said in a statement last Friday that he was equally concerned with the health issues affecting the school, but he as the elected representative could not do much because he did not have the necessary government grants immediately at his disposal to help bail out the school.
Mr Mald urged the NCDC to be compassionate about the health situation and find much needed funds within the commission to rectify the situation.
