Madang league praised for setting
good example

Madang Rugby League president Bryan Kramer has praised two rugby
league clubs in Madang for being well-organised and setting a
good example in the local competition.
Kramer praised successful premiership defenders, Ela Diwai and
minor premiers, LBC Souths Warriors for organising their clubs
well and making it into the grand final last Sunday.
The president made the comment before the presentation of the
grand final awards when Diwai successfully defended its A Grade
title by defeating newcomer Souths Warriors 22-12 in front a big
ground at the Ron Albert Oval on Sunday.
Kramer further praised the Diwai and Souths Warriors for having
good sponsors and setting the benchmark in club management in
Madang.
He challenged other clubs to organize themselves and find
sponsors to meet the standards set by the two teams made up of
students from educational institutions in Madang. Diwai is a
team of Divine Word University students and Souths Warriors is
also made up students from DWU along with those from Madang
Teachers College, Madang Technical College, Tusbab Secondary
School and youths from Madang town.
Diwai is sponsored by Ela Enterprises Ltd while Souths Warriors
is sponsored by Lae Builders and Contractors Ltd with support
sponsorship from Petroleum Resources Kutubu (PRK).
Kramer applauded the sponsors for backing the two teams and
enabling them to be well-organised outfits in the competition.
Kramer also praised the supporters and teams who took part in
the grand final of the three divisions (A Grade, B Grade and
Under 19) for making it a trouble-free event much to the
enjoyment of everyone who attended. The accolades come a week
after a referee was bashed up by supporters and bench players of
Tarangau club minutes before fulltime in the qualifying finals
game that the Souths Warriors were leading 18-12.
In the lower grade grand finals, Tarangau took out the B Grade
premiership against Royals while Royals took out the Under 19
premiership against Tarangau.e.
