WELCOME to October! If you follow Chinese astrology you will know
this is the Year of the Boar. Chinese believe boars own the horn of
plenty. If you are celebrating a Boar birthday this week, we wish you
well; your birthday will have been in 1911, in which case you’ve
completed 96 years, or in 1923, 1935, 1947, 1959, 1971, 1983 or 1995.

THE Chinese believe that the first king of China – but not the
first emperor – was the Yellow King who began rule in 2697 BC. The
4704th Chinese year began on Feb 4, 2007. The Boar ends the 12-year
cycle of the Chinese astrological calendar and those born under that
sign are reckoned to be patient, modest, hard-working and generous. Well
– that’s the good side!

HOWEVER, and according to that journalistic favourite, a reliable
source, last year a Chinese astrologer predicted that 2007 would be “a
year of gossip and endless arguments. From the general public to the
topmost leaders, there will be disputes everywhere, at all levels.
People will have verbal duels and fights and even nature will generate
conflict”.

WELL ... top marks so far! What else does our sage have to say?
“Rumours will haunt the government leading to major differences and
political parties will be greatly polarised ... People will have their
privacy intruded upon, confidential information stolen, sold and exposed
to the public glare. If you have anything to hide, the chances are that
it will be found out this year.”

NOW just in case some of our honourable readers suspect we’ve
written the above ourselves, we are happy to refer you to http://www.crystal-vaastu.com/general_

SPY rang yesterday. The familiar croak came down the line from
Madang; he had been shopping and found every conceivable cut of chicken
– breasts, thighs, legs, feet, cocktails and so on. But not livers. The
old fraud was wondering whether the contemporary chicken is born without
that humble organ. Sheesh.
