Help the people at dumpsite

I REFER to the letter “NCD leaders must clean up ‘sad sight’ at Baruni” (Sept 27) by Iru Kila of Port Moresby.
It is sad to see our fellow human beings feeding on rubbish that is being dumped at Baruni.
The National Government, the NCDC and the Moresby Northwest MP must take responsibility and do something now.
Among the measures to be taken are:
*Rehabilitate the place or relocate the people staying there;
*Provide water, build schools, health centre and other basic services;
*Build a waste recovery/recycling industry at the site with help of donor agencies such as JICA; and
*The site must be managed by NCDC.
