KAGUA-Erave MP James Lagea is calling for an immediate review of the Gobe memorandum of agreement (MoA) with developer Oil Search Ltd.
Mr Lagea said the review was urgently needed to iron out land disputes related to the project.
He also supported Chief Secretary Isaac Lupari’s call to review royalty and equity payments to landowners.
He said the oil at Gobe is about to run out and when it is gone, there should remain tangible investment for his people and the electorate.
Mr Lagea said many landowners from his electorate had squandered almost K100 million worth of royalties since the project started without setting up any tangible investment.
