Successful kick boxing bouts

PNG Kick Boxing Association announced a 20-man squad after successfully staging its national trials to take on the rest of the world.
PNGKBA announced the squad after national trial fights at the Sports Inn entertainment arena, in Port Moresby on Saturday night.
The national trials attracted more than 50 fighters from different clubs from many centers across the country that are affiliated with PNGKBA to fight their way into Team PNG to take on the rest of the world team made professional fighters in the world.
Team PNG will undertake two months intensive training under champion fighter Stanley Nandex and also be captained by “the headhunterî to take on rest of the world in Dec 1, later this year.
Individual fighters will have a bout in different weight divisions ranging from 55kg to 100kg classes.
PNGKBA president Stanley Nandex thanked sponsors, supporters, and fighters and for making the trials a successful one but urged every stake holder including government to take advantage of the event to sell PNG overseas through the event.
“This will be a big event where the government and relevant stakeholders need to get behind PNGKBA to market PNG overseas. We have international media showing interest in the event thus we must make use of this opportunity,î Nandex said.
Team PNG training squad is: Patrick Kepa ( Lae), Timmy Waunda (Madang), Chrispin Sali (Buka), Andy Sam (POM), Livingstone (Madang), Solomon Taiamawi, Frank Simon (POM), David Larry, Brian Terry, Gabi Yura (POM), Tom Waima (Chimbu), Tom Tomba (Kimbe), Mark Sodo (POM), Dickson Dii (POM), Afred Kime (Lae), Robby Aukua (POM), Danniel David (Kimbe), David Sere (Lae), Richard Thomas (Chimbu), Mark Sai (Wewak).
