Uniting for a purpose

THE recent peace move between Morobe Governor Luther Wenge and Lae MP Bart Philemon has prompted me to write.
It was a timely move between the two prominent political leaders of Morobe given the fact that Lae is the capital city of Morobe and the industrial hub of PNG.
It is in dire need of basic services such as better roads, public transport, etc. The lack of these services, coupled with law and order problems, created an environment not conducive for business investment and other forms of development.
The reconciliation between the two leaders now depict an united political leadership to bail Lae out of its woes. And this, in my view, is what Lae has been lacking recently.
In this time of economic hardship and social instability, collaboration and networking are key to change. Thus, leaders in all levels of government must put aside their differences and work towards improving the image of not only Lae city but Morobe and the nation.
It stands to reason that now is the time for all good leaders to come to the party – a party to plan the rejuvenation of Morobe province as a while.
This has been a big problem over the years as each Member of Parliament set out to build his own empire.
Remember, In Anutu we trust and prosper is the motto for the province.
Pasin blong bruk bruk na koros long wanpla narapela ino pasin blong Anutu. Let us all unite in true spirit of Morobe for the betterment of our people.
