H’lands leaders’ shame

NEWLY-elected Highlands leaders like Peter Ipatas and Jamie Maxtone-Graham should all hang their heads in shame for letting down the Highlands people.
In traditional Highlands custom, men fight to defend their tribe, family and customary beliefs. We cannot call these people leaders at all.
To see these elected leaders degrade themselves by begging and throwing their integrity away is a real shame. They cannot come to us now and claim to be leaders of the Highlanders.
I, for one, have lost confidence in these people. They have lost their credibility.
Why did Don Polye, the Highlands region leader of NA, who have the most number of MPs, not offer himself up for the prime minister’s job?
They should have joined Sir Mekere Morauta and Bart Philemon, and stand up like strong Highlanders and fight for what they deserve.
To go under the Sepiks once again is demoralising to Highlanders.
Eighty percent of the country’s revenue comes from the Highlands. We have oil, gas, gold and coffee.
We have 48 MPs in Parliament. When will these so-called Highlands leaders recognise the fact that we are the money-making region of PNG and stand up and fight for political control of PNG.
