Body of woman dug up to undergo post-mortem

By ELIZABETH VUVU
THE body of a woman who was found on a boat floating off the west coast of Namatanai has been exhumed for a post-mortem to determine the cause of death.
The body was found last week and buried on Monday.
Gabriel ToWaira, coordinator of Namatanai District, said yesterday that the coroner had requested that a post-mortem be done.
He said police were also investigating.
The woman is believed to be a teacher at the Logogo Primary School.
She was among six people who went missing in waters between Kokopo and Namatanai in East New Britain province recently.
Two days ago, some people travelling to Kokopo in the morning reported to the police that they saw four bodies floating around the west coast area.
Mr ToWaira said a team of police and district officers launched a search, going as far as Makada in Duke of York but found nothing.
He said the bodies could have drifted away.
He urged people to report to the authorities quickly if they sight any body so that immediate action could be taken.
Meanwhile, the boat that left from Kokopo with seven people last week, mv Palex, is still missing.
