Papua New Guinean writers often face difficulty in acquiring sponsorship from business houses.
However, this was not the case for PNG writer Libby Jiram.
Shipping company Consort Express decided to sponsor the publication of a revised edition of Mr Jiram’s books; Single-Entry Bookkeeping for Small Business in PNG and the Single-Entry Bookkeeping Workbook.
The company has also sponsored the publication of 600 copies of the first edition, now used by some schools and small business owners.
Financial controller Graham Anderson, who has a deep interest in training people in accounting, said Consort was “happy to support Mr Jiram’s work in producing a book that would assist students, business people and the community in keeping records and understanding commerce”.
Mr Jiram thanked Consort for its assistance in investing in the development of PNG’s human resource.
