Doubts about recruiter

I HAVE been closely following the Millennium Card Pty Ltd’s claims in PNG dailies to recruit Papua New Guineans to work in Perth, Western Australia (WA), where there is a boom in the mining industry.
There is indeed a boom in the industry, just like in PNG.
However, I personally believe the company is bogus.
I have searched over the internet and the Australian Yellow Pages but cannot find the name of this company, its nature of business, let alone its business contact details as reported in the dailies.
I found out that the company has an Australian Business Number (ABN) but anyone can apply for an ABN in Australia.
As we Papua New Guineans are emotional and naïve, we can be easily conned. The most recent incident was in 2003-04 when an unknown organisation advertised in the dailies for seasonal fruit pickers.
The following facts need to be understood by the people who are targeted by bogus companies:
l There are tough immigration laws here in Australia in terms of granting work visa unlike PNG. I don’t see how the people being recruited on behalf of mineral companies in WA will be granted any visa. Please refer to the Australian immigration website (www.immi.gov.au) for information;
l The mining companies that Millennium Card wishes to recruit on their behalf may have their own recruiting agents as most companies that engage recruiting agents are well-established agents who have their own websites. Almost all jobs (including casual and seasonal pickers) these days are advertised online especially on Seek (www.seek.com.au) and Career One (www.careerone.com.au), etc. I can’t even find the name of Millennium Card;
l The director of Millennium Card Alan Bodger (Oct 3) gave a telephone number (61894721566) and to contact a Linus in Perth. I called this number several times to speak with this guy but no one picked up phone. There is not even a voicemail system on this number.
I would appreciate if the directors and the owners of Millennium Card Pty Ltd and the organisation in Lae that is supporting this company explain and answer the questions raised above.
