MT Hagen police have charged five persons with the murder of the deputy principal of the Kandep Secondary School late last month.
They were picked up last week and appeared for mentioned on Monday and are being detained at the Baisu prison outside Mt Hagen city.
Acting Enga police commander Chief Insp Ambane Kaiglo said police investigators were completing their files for trial in the National Court.
He said all five were from Enga.
Andy Toaps was stabbed to death when he stepped out of a vehicle at a roadblock near Avi market in Anglimp district, Western Highlands.
He was on his way to Lae with his family and some teachers when the incident occurred.
