Catholic health secretaries for week-long workshop

SEVENTEEN Catholic health secretaries throughout the country attended a week-long workshop at Mingende District Hospital in Simbu province.
The workshop was officially opened by the auxiliary Bishop Anton Bal of Simbu and was the first of its kind held to address common issues affecting Catholic-run health services in the country.
Workshop facilitator Chris Adams, a volunteer from Germany who is based in Rabaul, said Catholic health secretaries from each province attended the meeting, which is funded by the Catholic Primary Health.
Mr Adams said the participants shared and gave information regarding issues of general concern in their respective provinces.
He said that the participants learnt how to overcome issues affecting their operation, which would enable them to run their operations effectively and efficiently.
He said that Mingende District Hospital was a best role model in the Highlands region and therefore, it was selected to host the meeting so that others could learn from the standards that it had set.
