A touch of success at Murray Barracks

The 15th National Touch Championships held recently in Port Moresby have been hailed a success.
The PNG Touch Federation-sanctioned event attracted 11 associations registered with PNGTF across the country and hosted by SP Port Moresby Corporate Touch at Murray Barracks sports grounds in Port Moresby.
The championships were contested in eight divisions - Open Men, Open Women, Open Mix, Senior Men, Senior Women, Masters Men, Junior U19 Men and U19 Women.
CTPM senior vice-president John Melvin, on behalf of his executive and management, thanked all officials, stakeholders’ supporters and sponsors for a successful and incident-free tournament.
Melvin thanked Murray Barracks community and everyone involved in the game, especially players who displayed four days of touch footy excitement.
“To see and witness people of all ages, both young and old from both sexes, alongside or against each other in great contest and then get together after each match to congratulate one another was special,” said Melvin.
The tournament was held under the theme “HIV/AIDS and Stop Violence Against Women and Children” with sponsorships from Telikom PNG, SP Brewery, Prospect Security, Leahy’s Water Deliveries, CE Hardware, PNG Water Board, Boroko Motors, Inter Oil, and Steel Industries.
