Chinese medicine working on the table

CHINESE Medic has raised a lot of eyebrows as they stunned rivals in the Port Moresby table tennis competition on Tuesday .
The Korobosea International School Hall came to a standstill when the mighty Chinese Medical Team overpowered the Tau Bake led Pidia team 3-2 in front of a capacity crowd to conclude round three of the semi professional competition.
It was a showdown by two class teams and the Chinese managed to pip Pidia in the doubles to claim the win.
In the other A grade matches, Lakwaharu Slippers, Chariz Rabbitohs and Office Equipment Technicians forfeited the three Indonesian teams who were unable to attend the night’s game due to their traditional activity.
Cadets on the other hand walked over AC Architects 4-1 and it was all Karai Taukarai’s night when he humbled Arafura Games representative player Goada Heni 2-1 in their singles encounter; his NTIL team eventually winning 3-2.
In the women’s former star players like Idau Lahui, Kari Henao and Gima Taviri are making their presence felt. Stacey Hoi and Hazel Rage in each of their single matches upset their more seasoned players in Hekoi Dai and Vui Polume respectively.
“Our main emphasis on this competition is to upgrade the juniors both in the boys and girls group and further their talent by looking at overseas tournament in the next two years,” coordinator, Hereva Hoi said.
Meanwhile, deadline date set by the executives for all player registration and affiliation fees are to be paid in by Tuesday 16th October 2007. POMTTA Association Treasurer, Hereva Hoi can be contacted on 687-1801/72101466 or emailed at pmishousing@iea.ac.pg to pay all outstanding fees.
Teams and players do not pay up by this date will have their games forfeited unless fees are paid.
