ARMED men robbed a couple along the Kamkumung-Butibam stretch of the Independence drive in Lae last Thursday of K1,500 and other personal items.
Police reported the gangsters were armed with home-made guns and bush knives while a potential rescuer were pointed away with arms.
In a separate incident, five youths armed with a factory-made pistol and shot gun threatened the driver of a bus and four other persons and robbed them of K288 in cash and two cell phones at 12-Mile last Saturday.
Police knew the identities of the suspected youths who are believed to be from the 4-Mile settlement.
Meanwhile, last Friday armed robbers at Boundary road escaped with cash from workers of the 8-Mile crocodile farm outside Lae city.
Police said the driver was dropping off a worker when two men armed with a pistol and shot gun approached their vehicle, threatened and stole K370 from one of the workers.
Police could neither say how many workers nor was how much taken.
A motorist from 12-Mile was left shaken after he was held up at gunpoint at 3-Mile by thugs but was let off unharmed.
