Mum: He put my baby in a penny box

A YOUNG woman whose husband had bashed her senseless and then pulled an unborn baby from her womb last week, said from hospital that her husband had put their dead baby inside a penny box but she did not know what he did with it.
Speaking to the media for the first time, Toi Moli from Kame village in the Anglimp district of Western Highlands province told The National that she was unconscious when her husband pulled out the baby.
Mrs Moli said her husband had continually attacked her for a week and she didn’t have any strength to defend herself or escape from the house.
“I was left half dead, lying on the ground inside the house when my husband pulled the baby out and put it inside a penny box but I don’t know what he did with the dead baby,” she said.
Mrs Moli, who is now recovering at the Kudjip Nazarene hospital, said she went without food or water for one week. She said her neighbours didn’t know what was happening until her father found out and took her to the hospital.
She said she went through great pain and couldn’t believe that she was still alive.
She said her husband attacked her because she talked with people in her village.
