Free university education for all
THERE are not many universities in PNG. A country like PNG
really needs a greater portion of its population to be properly educated to
survive in the local and international arena.
In light of the current fee issues affecting both staff and students at the
University of Technology in Lae, I believe the Government should step in and
fully fund university education for our young people.
There is nothing meaningful happening in terms of development for our
people.
University education should be free for those who have struggled to reach
that far.
That is one area the government should fully fund.
We, the taxpayers, don’t get to see our money put to meaningful use at all,
except to see politicians travelling around in flashy cars, travel overseas
at will and preaching nonsense.
It is about time we demand that all universities and other tertiary
institutions in the country be fully funded by the Government for our young
elites.
At least, that will be some consolation.
We are a people who are highly tolerant of corruption eating away our
beautiful country, that is why our 109 Members now sleep well at night.
Maybe they could at least come down to Earth and really help the people.
We need to believe in ourselves as a people. Come on PNG, let us not mess
ourselves up.
