The Mountain Catering Paiam Rocks are the premiers of the Porgera Rugby League again after defeating the Mt Kare Buffalo Knights 24-6 at the Ipili Sports field yesterday.
The Rocks proved too strong from the start to keep the Barrick PJV Shield for the fourth year. They registered their first two points on the third minute when referee Collin Baliu awarded them a penalty for a high tackle.
The game was played in a heavy rain and as such the Rocks, picked up their points by making use of the ball handling errors that Knights made at their territory.
Both teams were strong in defence but the Rocks always broke through using their heavy forwards like Iki Manase, Otto Sam, David Kindi and Samson Frank.
