Vanimo-Green MP backs Northern Zone volleyball team

NORTHERN Zone Volleyball league has received K20,000 from Vanimo-Green MP and Forest Minister Belden Namah to help meet their travel costs to the national championships in Port Moresby this weekend.
NZV executive Willie Bagore and Steven Kadam received the money yesterday with a sigh of relief.
“We want to give our words of appreciation and thanks to the Forest Minister,” Kadam and Bagore said.
“It is the first time in eight years for us to secure a sponsorship package with a local MP from Momase to enable us to attend the national championships. Namah also made a commitment to sponsor Northern Zone Volleyball league for another three years.”
Bogore said the NZ squad of 15 men and eight women players are currently camping in Ramu Sugar and will travel to Port Moresby on Friday.
They will also take part in the Asia Pacific Cup volleyball championships in Indonesia in December.
Namah said last night that he had decided to assist NZVL team to honour an earlier commitment when he sponsored the staging of the championships in Vanimo in June.
“I can confirm 100 per cent that I have supported the team,” Namah said.
