Power shedding expected in NCD

PNG Power will be carrying out load shedding in the National Capital District and surrounding areas due to the shutdown of two generators at the Kanudi power station.
This will start today until Oct 22.
The station is privately owned by Hanjung Power Ltd and generates a total of 24MW of power, which is sold to PNG Power to supplement its supply from Rouna and Moitaka power stations.
The total generation capacity for NCD and surrounding areas is 81MW, but with the shutdown, PNG Power can supply only 57MW.
Currently, Rouna is supplying 39MW while Moitaka supplies 18MW.
For the convenience of the general public, a two-hour six feeder load shedding schedule has been published in the newspapers.
