Solala comes to the rescue of abused women

EASTERN Highland’s police commander Supt Philip Solala has clampdown on drug-induced abuses against women.
Mr Solala declared his war on men abusing women while accompanying Vice-Minister for Health and Lufa MP Yawa Silupa during his visit to officiate at the graduation of 17 local auxiliary police officers last Friday.
Mr Silupa had supported Supt Solala’s proposal to upgrade the Lufa rural police cell and station to allow them to handle not only drug offenders but other lawbreakers.
Their initiatives came after a recent revelation of a drug addict in Lufa who bashed his pregnant wife that led to the death of her unborn baby.
“I want drug-related problems in Lufa to stop immediately … I urge all men to respect their women and children and respect their families, especially their wives and children,” Supt Solala said.
He also appealed to husbands to refrain from hurting their wives especially those that may be pregnant.
“Look after your family with respect,” he said.
Supt Solala said police would soon arrest the man who allegedly bashed his pregnant wife.
