PNG style
Papua New Guinea, a country like all
So rich with resources, it will never fall.
We have so much gold, the size of a giant ball.
And even our Mt Wilhelm, it's just so tall.
"Papua New Guinea, em fit country," that was Pope John Paul
He said it himself at the Sir John Guise hall
I mean what else do we need, a ten-story mall?
Come on, Stop n Shop's not that small!
OK, I better get to the point
or those teachers will make me crawl.
Now, when Papua was separated from the people in New Guinea
We had fights, we had arguments, ask Ryan Pini!
Although, he might have been a baby, when Somare took over,
Anyway, being a new country, we got our first Range Rover
You can drive one up the Highlands, you can drive one down
the coast,
You can drive one down to 4-mile, but try to make the most.
Our cultures are so unique, our people are so fine,
If that flag was lost in China, I'd be proud to say that's
mine.
Back in 75' when my mother was 20, 30 years old
She saw that beautiful flag, begin to unfold.
It was an emotional scene and moment, I was told.
Nothing is worth that flag, not even gold!
So you can take your gold elsewhere and try to get it sold,
Coz I got my hands on that flag, it's a strong hold.
Now for the part where
I describe the four regions,
I have good things and I have bad things,
and I also have my reasons.
First up, we got the Highlanders in the back, with their
scary looking spears,
Although, they don't look so scary, after a few beers.
But don't mess with a Highlander, coz then you'll have
tears,
Because they're big and they're strong, they can be your
worst fears.
Moving on, we have a whole group of people, living along the
coast,
They respect you when you visit, they're the perfect host.
They feed you, they look after you, and they care for you
the most.
But I find it quite annoying when their men start to boast.
Now we have Momase, them music making folks,
There's K-Duman and there's O-Shen, they're all talented
blokes.
When they said O-Shen was on Rage, I knew it was a hoax,
And the bad thing about them is, they all look for smokes.
Last but not the least, we have the New Guinea Islands.
With them beautiful young ladies, they're worth more than
diamonds.
Their lands are nicely leveled, unlike the Highlands,
So when you see a guy with kambang over here, remember that
he's from the Niugini Islands.
Now, I'd like to share with you, the people I love the most,
It's, their dances and their costumes, which separates them
from the coast.
Their sings sings are just beautiful, especially when
there's a roast.
And they do look kind of scary, its like seeing a ghost!
And you know what! They love eating lamb flaps; they've made
a dish out of toast,
Hell! Give them anything to eat; I've seen them nibbling on
a post!
But it's their language I admire; it's worth to freaking
boast!
Yep, I'm talking about all you Highlanders, you all deserve
a toast.
Come on, stand up, stomp your feet and clap,
I'll tell you some information that puts us on the map!
The languages on this planet are connected in some way,
But not in the Highlands, its kinda strange a!
Five in Motu, its the same in Indonesian,
This applies to most of us and to every Melanesian!
So let's be proud for PNG, and this very reason.
The Highlanders are great, with their languages this season!
You mangi Simbu o You mangi Ialibu,
Your language is just beautiful, how ba mi larim you?
You roun lo Koki Market, or you roun long Boroko Foodworld,
There will always be a highlander, of course you can tell!
I wake up every morning, me like kisim bus,
Driver wantaim boscru, tokples igopas!
Taim ol Muruks winnim final, ol Gurias start long cry,
But Lockier knew the reason and he told us all why!
Tokples blo you em namba one, I love the way you speak,
So please, noken tok tok too mas, U makim me feel weak!
Now, just before I end this poem I'd like to thank you all!
For your time and your attention, it was a ball!
Anyway, I leave it in your hands, to celebrate this day,
This 32 year-old country needs to have its say!
But just before I go, I want you all to know,
That PNG is blessed, from its head down to its toe!
So let's all come together, and try to get to know
The cultures of this country on this lovely show!
Finally, all of us and that flag, we're the perfect match,
God bless you all, apakanda catch!
