Legalising prostitution may be a remedy for Papua New Guinea

I WOULD like to suggest the idea of legalising prostitution in the country. While I expect a lot of people will not agree with me, these are my facts to back my case.
1. A lot of countries with legalised prostitution like Australia, Germany, France and Japan have low HIV/AIDS rates. Where is the logic? They should have higher incidence because the law allows for it.
2. There must be very strict control to people who want to visit such licenced premises. Security personnel or bouncers will ensure certain criteria are followed before clients are allowed to enter such premises. Tose who do not, will be thrown out. The health of clients will be thoroughly scrutinised.
3. In doing so, rape and other sexual harassment will drastically cut down. Women protection and harassment is becoming a issue but let’s look as some ways to minimise such incidence.
4. PNG gained independence more than 30 years ago. It is the biggest country in the South Pacific. As such, it must tighten its law and set the rules.
5. We must study the international behavioural studies undertaken by various international agencies and apply them in our country.
