MHL to stage Lae show

THE people of Lae were teased over the weekend by the Mainland Holdings Limited (MHL) show float just days before the 47th Morobe Show, one of the largest shows in PNG.
Starting at the Niugini Tablebirds yard at 6-Mile with music on full blast, the float toured through Eriku, Cassowary, Chinatown, Voco Point and market.
People living along the float route ran out to the road side, surprised at the din, and were given promotional items including caps and flyers.
The 100% nationally owned MHL will hold a pre-show event on Friday that will have displays from its seven divisions.
Clients will be invited for sampling of chicken and alligator meat, to take some goodies home or just to enjoy the displays without the hassle of traffic.
This was believed to be the first such pre-show event and schools who usually take kids on a visit during Fridays are welcome to drop by.
Two tourist groups are expected to visit the show to see displays of different cultures, traditional singsings, agricultural displays, business exhibitions and more.
The tourist groups include US photographers and another group coming through the Trans Niugini Tours in the Highlands.
The show will be staged on Oct 27-28th.
