Bankers open winning
account
REIGNING premiers Bank South Pacific (BSP) opened their
account with a huge 29-11 scoreline against Kina in the first round of the
Private Companies Netball competition on Sunday at Rita Flynn Court in Port
Moresby.
Led by Madelene Topalemu, Kay John and Renagi Dringo, the bankers never
looked back as they continued to dominate both the opening and the final
halves of the match to win comfortably.
BSP players were looking sharp with their defensive and offensive play which
gave Kina a run for their money.
In the opening match of the season, Fairdeal meant business by defeating the
Lucy Emboge-led team, Brian Bell 23-10.
NTIL proved that they are the team to reckoned with when they maintained
their composure to beat Moore Printing 22-17.
Leading 13-9 at half time, NTIL, with the help of Rhonda Nohoro, goals
shooter, gave Kila Mori (GD) of Moore Printing a hard time.
Nohoro had to work overtime against Mori to score points.
The Teachers continued their momentum and went on to win the match by five
points.
WPC and STC Fin registered the first draw game of the season - 19-all.

THE new NCD Executive Touch Footy
competition is slowly gaining popularity among the CEO’s of both private and
the public sectors in Port Moresby.
Initiated by Watt Kiddie and his group of keen sporting CEO’s like Richard
Kassman, the competition have already attracted several big names such as
Leon Busken, Ian Tarutia, Paul Paraka, Vincent Mirupasi, Joseph Kintau,
Peter Loko and Kepson Bundu.
The interim executive officer of the competition McKenzie Maino said the
game now is taken into the offices in an attempt to lure them out of their
busy schedule to enjoy the non-competitive game of touch.
The NCD Executive Touch Footy competition is CEO-friendly as they will be
played in a comfortable pace, Maino said.
The first game was played last week and will continue today at Port Moresby
Rugby Football League (POMRFL) grounds.
The competition is run by an interim committee headed by Kiddie .
Ravu, who is also POMRFL president, said the security both within the ground
and outside are guaranteed. He urged everyone to turn up for the Tuesday
games.
