Rami helps to crown Blue Kumuls

By SAMPSON BONAI
LANKY striker Ruth Ramiís final goal in the dying minutes helped Blue Kumuls romp home over Mix Mates 4-1 in Bulolo womenís soccer grand final on Sunday.
Rami was in devastating form and was everywhere on the paddock taking the ball up front and keeping Mix Mates on their toes every time she touched the ball. She was ably backed by Nicola Nalib, Pangar Jessem, Michelle Wondai and Elsie Kowei.
Mix Mates also proved a handful with strikers Alice Saki, captain Janet Thomas, Giwi Bulu, Leah Philip, Lulu Rex and Basilika Philip combining well to keep moving the ball deeper into the policewomenís territory.
The policewomenís golden boot made tripped the light fantastic dribbling past three Mates defenders and catching the goalie off guard for the opening goal.
Not to be outdone Mix Mates fought back strongly with strikers Betty Gamu, Alice Saki, Miriam Simon, Giwi Bulu, Leah Philip, Dambi Max and Lulu Rex backing each other up to equalise but tight defence by the policewomen denied them any further points.
The policewomen kept applying pressure and forced an opening in the Mates defence to allow striker Nalib who wrong footed her opponent in front of their goal mouth to sail home their second goal to put Kumuls in front 2-0.
Mates replied through Thomas to keep their hopes alive to trail 1-2 at halftime but their hopes were dashed in the final quarter when Nalib and Ramiís golden boots worked wonders for the policewomen to walk away with the title 4-1.
