Another challenge for rising bowling star Topal in Australia

PNG rising lawn bowl star Pomat Topal will face yet another big challenge in his bowling career when he takes on the best at the annual World Singles champions at Warilla, New South Wales.
The Nov 6-16 event has attracted the champion of the champions from all over the world including the Cook Islands.
This will be Topalís second only international tournament and a great learning and development opportunity. The Manus youngster who recently won gold in pairs and bronze in fours will be playing the some of the best bowlers in the world.
Pomat who recently won gold and bronze at the South Pacific Games will be playing the some of the best bowlers in the world.
The tournament will played using set play and divided into two pools of 12 players each.
His first match will be against the strong New Zealand player Tony Grantham.
With two matches a day for the six days of pool play Topal will also play the Cook Islands, Spain, Guernsey, South Africa, England, Canada, USA, Swaziland, Kenya, and playing Singapore in his final pool match.
The Top four players from each section will go through to the Quarterfinal Play off sections.
This will be Topalís second only international tournament and a great learning and development opportunity. It will also give him valuable preparation for the upcoming World Teams Cup to be staged in Christchurch, New Zealand, when he will be joined by four other bowlers in representing PNG at this event.
Topal is an apprentice mechanic with Coastal Automotive based in Madang and the PNG Bowls executive is extremely grateful for the company and its owner Ron Mckeana for his continued assistance and support for Pomatís bowls career.
