Police warn Lae residents over theft

LAE metropolitan commander Chief Supt Nema Mondiai has warned city residents to be wary of robberies, pick-pocketing and break-ins in the next two days leading up to this weekend’s Morobe agriculture show.
Mr Mondiai issued the warning highlighting the need for residents to be extra cautious about their movements. He said that in the days leading up to the show, opportunists find ways to steal from others to go to the show.
Mr Mondiai said that from previous experience, the city recorded a sudden increase in minor hold-ups and incidences of pick-pocketing the week prior to the show.
He warned residents to be careful when travelling at odd hours and locations.
