Cheryl Amini secures top job

CHERYL Amini has been appointed EAP team manager for the 2008 Australian Country Cricket Championships (ACCC) to be held in Mackay, Queensland, on Jan 6-17 next year.
Amini’s appointment followed the successful performance of Naoki Miyaji (Japan) during the 2007 ACCC, and was the result of the recent nomination and selection process conducted by the ICC EAP office.
Amini has a long history of cricket involvement in PNG and is the current team manager of the PNG Under 19 Team which will compete in the 2008 ICC Under 19 World Cup in Malaysia.
She has also been the team manager of the PNG men’s team, a national player with the PNG women’s team, and has held various other roles with the PNGCB, Port Moresby Cricket Association and Coasters Cricket Club.
Professionally, Amini has had a distinguished career in graphic design, advertising and management roles in Port Moresby.
The ICC EAP office has congratulated her on her appointment, while at the same time acknowledging other countries of the EAP who had applied for the job.
