‘Public servants still absent’

By SUSAN OREAPE-FARAPO
Public Servants Netball Association (PSNA) executives have called on member teams to explain their absence during the trial competition during the past two weeks, or face dismissal from the competition.
The teams are asked to clarify in writing before 12 noon today with all letters to be forwarded to head of match committee.
The last trial matches were completed last weekend but several teams did not turn up and face being dropped from the competition.
This will affect the resumption of season proper.
PSNA executives said they will not start season proper unless a letter is received from the teams concerned. Letters of explanation will be directed to chairperson of match committee, Karo Gigimat or call her on 3277940.
Meanwhile, public servants netball has established a number of working committee to better improve the standard of the competition as compared to previous years.
It has set up several committees to tackle different issues affecting the association. The committees are match, appeals, fundraising, umpires with judiciary and public relations committee yet to be finalised.
PSNA president Mary Albaniel wants to see a change in this season and that there were a lot of differences in the previous years.
There will be an AGM this weekend to discuss registration fees, umpire fees, penalties, gate fees, uniform requirements, eligibility of players and the PR committee.
