AN elderly man has been charged with kicking his wife to death after she failed to cook him some food two weeks ago.
Philip Singoro of Duto village in Lufa district, Eastern Highlands, allegedly admitted to the act when questioned by the police.
Police said the incident occurred on Oct 20 and Esther Philip died the next day.
A relative reported the incident to the police.
Singoro told the Goroka District Court on Monday that he deeply regretted his action.
He also expressed concern over the fate of their young children.
“Who will look after them?” he asked.
The court fixed Nov 12 for trial.
