DOLPHINS are expected to upstage premiers Bee Hives Gazelle when they clash on Sunday in the main match of the weekend in round five of the Digicel Port Moresby women’s softball.
Dolphins have been improving with every game that they have played so far and could go all the way for an upset win on their current form.
All they need would be to execute a bit of concentration when batting and reduce their error rates to ensure of a vital win over the premiers who cannot be taken lightly.
Dolphins boast capable players like Vero Aitsi, Yaking Haii, Esther Xkenjix, Lara Aitsi and Gloria Unavi who must lift their respective performances and will have to click as well in batting when facing Gazelle pitcher Grace Wamna.
Coach Camelio Haii would be planning for a much improved performance by his Dolphin charges which if executed by the players could bring about the desired result.
Gazelle on the other hand is blessed with youth and experiences that have enabled them to establish their supremacy at this stage of the competition.
Internationals Jenny Pilak and Mechtil Raymond, Mathilda Pondriket and Pala Manet will again be relied on to lead a youthful line-up including Jessica Tonga, Natasha Pilak and Cinta Wamna who could make the Dolphin fielders busy all day with their batting form.
In the other matches tomorrow, Airways Bears with international pitcher Maggie Josephs in the control seat should be comfortable over Malangan.
Stingerz, who boast the likes of Dorcas Horis, Helen Bunbun, Claire Wutt, Nicky and Leno Simba, should have too much class over Admiralty.
BRE Wantoks will be on bye.
