Rugby apology

THE Papua New Guinea Football Union (PNGRFU) has apologised to its sponsors, its advocates and the general public regarding the incident aboard Air Niugini flight from Singapore to Port Moresby on Tuesday.
PNGRFU chief Graham Osborne said the PNGRFU board was treating this matter seriously and would be dealing with the matter accordingly.
He said all teams travelling to international rugby union events that are affiliated or endorsed by the PNGRFU were required to abide by the PNGRFU Code of Conduct.
Any player or officials found to have breached the Code of Conduct and brought the code into disrepute was dealt with severely, he said.
In relation to the Tuesday incident, Osborne said the PNGRFU was awaiting the official report on the incident and any persons involved or implicated shall face a ban from all PNGRFU competition locally and international for a minimum of two or three years.
