Health system still a nightmare
OUR health system has hardly improve over the years and
remains a nightmare.
When a person falls seriously ill, he is taken to the hospital where he
is put on a prolonged medication programme within a decrepit health care
system.
This pattern of treatment remains so, because we have yet to find an
effective way to improve our nation’s health.
As a developing country, Papua New Guinea’s big problem is establishing
priorities to place our limited resources where they can best make a big
difference in our development growth.
Therefore, no matter how much money we pour into health each year, it
will never be enough to adequately address the problem.
Are there no other alternatives? The most basic approach is to first
alleviate the main causes of people getting sick and second, to prevent
it.
As the saying goes, prevention is better than cure.
Papua New Guinea’s increasing annual health bill does not seem to be
making much difference to the problems highlighted in the media, proving
that increasing funding may not be a best approach.
So, how do we cut our health costs and at the same time, strive to build
a healthy nation?
I believe the first step is to educate people to be responsible for
their own health.
This is a continuous exercise and must be part of our annual health
improvement programme in the rural communities, towns and cities.
The health profession has for many years impressed upon us the idea that
when we get sick, we get medicines to get cured. This is not entirely
true.
Research shows that medicines can also kill through its prolonged use.
The public must realise that doctors tend to treat the disease’s
symptoms but not its cause by administering drugs to patients.
What drugs do is prolong the patient’s pain and suffering, and
eventually he succumbs to the illness.
The fundamental answer to most of our nation’s sickness lies in a simple
water cure treatment. If the people can do it themselves to stay
healthy, we can save a lot in huge medical treatment costs.
The secret to staying healthy is simple – drink more water every day.
Doctors and the health profession will not tell you that the root cause
of many painful degenerative diseases is a lack of water in the body.
Most doctors just like to prescribe you drugs on behalf of the drug
companies who are making billions in profits
Systematic water intake has been known to alleviate or cure some known
conditions like asthma, cancer, rheumatism, allergies, hypertension,
being obese and other emotional problems including depression.
So stay healthy by drinking more water. Eat a good diet and follow a
daily exercise regime – it will help ensure your health.
