Fairdeal stay unbeaten in private sector comp

By HENRY MORABANG
FAIRDEAL brushed aside a late charge by BSP at the weekend to remain undefeated in the Private Companies Netball Competition (PCNC) premier division in Port Moresby.

The Fairdeal girls were just too strong in the end to walk away winners by seven points, 19-12.
Led by flying ace Kovina Inia (GA) and Geno Gideon (GS), the Fairdeal girls ensured BSP defenders in Betty Kila (GD) and John Kay (GK) had to work over time to prevent them from scoring goals.
Kay, who played brilliantly in the goalkeeping position, needed a much faster partner to help her out in defence.
Although Kila tried her best, BSP really needed to improve i that area if they are to win coming matches.
Fairdeal have a good attacking and mid-court players in Geno Imani (WA), Seri Noa, Koivna Inia and Gideon which kept them ahead of BSP all day long.
BSP with the injection of Madlene Topelemu in the second half did little wonder but that was not enough for the bankers to threaten Fairdeals handsome lead.
Shooter Nina Vele, Vavine Paula (WA) and Sherly Roge struggled at times to win the ball against Fairdeal defenders.
The game was very entertaining with both sides exchanging goal for goal throughout.
In the early game, Westpac thrashed Moore 35-7 while Brian Bell, led by veteran Lucy Emboge, defeated Kina 21-18 and in the main game, Finance proved too strong for NTIL 24-15.
